Jon Bon Jovi Tickets - A Political Supporter

by Brent Warnken

No one said it would last forever, but apparently Hilary Clinton didn't get the memo. The former presidential candidate can't seem to let go of her loss to the now President-elect Barack Obama, and what can only be an attempt to get the topic back on her, is hosting an aptly titled "a final evening in support of Hilary Clinton for President Debt Relief."

Yes, that's right folks, the former New York senator still managed to get those three little words ("Clinton for President") in there as she heads under her enemy's wing. But this "Clinton for President Debt Relief" isn't the traditional sponsorship most presidential candidates seek "it's merely a styling tactic to get the former first lady out of her $6.3 million campaign debt that she racked up while tearing up during her run against the Illinois senator. And to make things really exciting, she's adding a few special performances to get the ball rolling, one being the infamous 40-something year old Jon Bon Jovi. As ticket prices continue to rise to get that debut paid, don't hesitate and get your Jon Bon Jovi Tickets!

Before Clinton can accept her new position as Obama's Secretary of State, the lady must clear her debut away as federal ethics rules prohibit Cabinet Officials from actively soliciting campaign contributions, according to the Associated Press. The fundraiser, scheduled for January 15th at Manhattan's Town Hall, will give Clinton back the millions of out of pocket money she laid out to support her presidential bid. Bon Jovi will easily fall into the place of debt rehabber, who was involved with the 2008 Democratic campaign in October for an Obama fund raiser in his New Jersey home. The star was also the subject of controversy when his singles were being used in Republican ad campaigns without his authorization this year.

The musician supporting the politician isn't a new occurrence, and for rockers like Bon Jovi it's as something as natural as putting on some polished black swingers. The first pop star to publicly support a politician came in 1960 when Frank Sinatra rose in support of John Kennedy. Since the campaign, rock stars have been following Sinatra's move in droves, most recently when Bruce Springsteen sang in support of John Kerry in 2004 and Barack Obama in 2008. So Bon Jovi is just another rocker in a long line that has come out in support of any political cause. The openly Democratic musician even sang for former Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton when they were awarded the Liberty Medal in 2006 and has been a constant supporter of "Mrs. C," as he calls her.

Jon Bon Jovi's career has been a constant presence in the hard rock arena since the '80s when he first created his band Bon Jovi. Even with a solo career that catapulted him into mainstream success, the group remained his most popular feat. Since their debut release in 1984 the group has seen international multi-platinum success, a style shift created all on their own and a reliable fan base. Except for a brief hiatus at the end of the '90s, the group has remained a constant in rock and roll, and will last forever as hall of famers.
